On the early morning of Friday, July 5, 2019, a tragic accident happen. Phillip Lillard, was hit by a drunk driver that left the scene leaving him on the side of the road severely injured. Luckily a good Samaritan saw the accident and called 911, where he was rushed to a trauma center in Chicago, IL to save his life. Phillip is still in intensive care and will remain in the hospital for an extended period of time. He’s unable to walk.
Phillip has 7 broken ribs, 4 on the right side and 3 on the left side. His right leg (upper and lower) is broken in 2 places . His middle back has 4 broken bones, and lower back has 3 broken bones. His shoulder bone is fractured, and he’s wearing a brace to help secure the broken bones in his back. He has a broken left arm and has 2 fractured fingers on his right hand.
Phillip is now taking seizure medicine since he has multiple brain bleeds. He also has a blot clot on the left side of his head and his liver is lacerated.
Phillip has recently had surgery on both his arm and leg . He now has pins, plates, and screws in his arm and leg. He is unable to sit up or walk at all and will require extensive therapy to recover his mobility, but that is a long way off.
Phillip is a great father of 2 teenage girls and 2 small boys. Until his accident he was a long-distance truck driver delivering cars around the country.
